The Course


Fantasea Harbour Hike is an easy to moderate, 12km walk, taking 2.5 - 3.5 hours to complete and is a fantastic opportunity for families, friends, colleagues, and individuals to come together and participate in a healthy and fun community event this Father's Day while taking in the best vistas that Sydney Harbour has to offer.


Start Line

Participants will start under the famed Sydney Harbour Bridge in Bradfield Plaza, Kirribilli from 8.00am.


When you register for Fantasea Harbour Hike you will need to indicate which half hour you would like to start with options being:-

8.00am - 8.30am

8.30am - 9.00am

9.00am - 9.30am

9.30am - 10.00am


Fantasea Harbour Hike is not a timed event. If you wish to power walk or run, organisers suggest you register for the 8.00am - 8.30am start bracket.

You decide what time you would like to start the event within your chosen half hour bracket.  Please ensure you arrive at the start line at Bradfield Plaza 30 minutes before your allocated start time to sign in and collect your event kit which includes your registration bib and an event passport.


From the start line at Bradfield Plaza under the Sydney Harbour Bridge the course heads through the streets of Kirribilli and Neutral Bay to the entrance to the Harbour foreshore path at Shellcove, Neutral Bay.  The course continues along the foreshore around Cremorne Point, taking in some of the most spectacular  views Sydney has to offer, before reaching Mosman Bay and walking over the ridge at Raglan Street.  The course rejoins the foreshore paths at Sirius Cove and follows the Harbour foreshore paths through stunning bushland near Taronga Zoo into the Sydney Harbour National Park at Bradleys Head to Chowder Bay and Clifton Gardens Reserve, Mosman.


Please note that the foreshore paths are not accessible to wheelchairs or prams. Dogs are not permitted in the Sydney Harbour National Park.



Finish Line

Fantasea Harbour Hike's finish line is located in Clifton Gardens Reserve at Chowder Bay, Mosman. The SIMS Marine Festival at the finish line at Clifton Gardens Reserve will await hikers who complete the walk.


The SIMS Marine Festival is free and open to all members of the public from 10.00am - 3.00pm.


A FREE ferry service will be available to transport all event participants (all you need to show is your registration bib when boarding) back to Jeffrey Street Wharf, Kirribilli from Clifton Gardens Reserve, Chowder Bay.  


All participants will receive a copy of the course map in the Fantasea Harbour Hike passport.

Children and the Harbour Hike


Fantasea Harbour Hike is a family-friendly event, however due to the distance and nature of the course children under the age of seven years are not permitted to register for the event.

Children under the age of eight can participate in the event in other ways, such as:

  • Attending the SIMS Marine Festival at the finish line
  • Telling Mum, Dad, siblings, friends and family members to register for SIMS Harbour Hike and explore our harbour!
